Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an Electrical Project Manager – Data Center Construction with field experience to oversee a high-profile data center project in Charlotte. You will manage the General Contractor’s construction activities, report schedule status to the project owner, and bring deep field technical expertise and strong leadership to a complex mission-critical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of electrical project management experience, preferably in data center construction or with an electrical contractor.
• Experience with substation and power distribution systems preferred.
• Familiarity with MEP design.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and construction methodologies.
• Proficiency in the Data Center Commissioning Process (levels 1–5).
• Proficiency managing construction documents including BODs, specifications, contract drawings, C/D/Es, equipment submittals and RFIs.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, P6, CxAlloy, and other construction project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage and collaborate with project stakeholders.
• Provide clear communication across internal teams for consistent client delivery.
• Analyze, track, and manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slips.
• Verify project governance, processes and systems are utilized.
• Ensure best practices on all projects.
• Produce formal project status reports and other reports as required.
• Monitor progress of multiple construction projects to ensure standards are applied.
• Manage interface between suppliers through trackers and reviews.
• Maintain project information flow via meetings and written communications.
• Forecast and update key project milestones.
• Lead local design teams per commission criteria.
• Provide technical support to owners, architects, contractors and regional stakeholders.
• Respond rapidly to RFIs from the field.
• Contribute to cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance.
• Review status reports, drawings submittals, timelines and costs from teams.
