Job summary

Froehling & Robertson, Inc. (F&R) seeks a field investigator to perform subsurface investigations across locations from highways to remote worksites.

Responsibilities include SPTs, hollow-stem augers, mud-rotary drilling, rock cores, and pavement studies under general supervision. You will guide drill crews, log borehole locations with GPS, follow safety rules, manage timesheets and expenses, and travel up to 65% overnight.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of drilling experience.
• Class A CDL preferred or obtainable after employment.
• State-issued well driller certification preferred.
• Ability to travel overnight up to 65%+.
• Strong math and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow safety regulations and DOT screening.
• Experience with SPT, mud rotary, and rock coring desirable.
• Ability to drive company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Performs site recons, digging and SPT drilling.
• Performs subsurface field investigations.
• Oversees and mentors drill helpers.
• Uses GPS to log borehole locations and link to worksite data.
• Follows all safety regulations and maintains records.
• Inputs timesheets and expenses; tracks daily work installed.
• Upholds F&R mission and values; performs other duties as assigned.
