Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a field technician to troubleshoot, diagnose, service, and install dock and door equipment in the Chicago area. The role involves performing planned maintenance, welding, and maintaining the service van and its inventory.

You will also handle paperwork after each job and collaborate with customers to ensure quality service. A HS diploma, valid license, and a willingness to operate lift trucks are required.

Qualifications

• Less than 2 years related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record and ability to safely operate lift trucks.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must not require work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
• Technical school graduate preferred.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Welding experience preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication and customer care skills.
• Ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with common hand tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, service, repair, and install dock and door equipment.
• Perform assigned planned maintenance on customer dock and door equipment.
• Perform welding.
• Maintain a service van and its inventory.
• Process paperwork after completing each job.
