Job summary

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) seeks a Distribution Electric Engineer III to join our Electric Field Engineering team in the Kent or Factoria offices. You will apply engineering judgment to plan, design, and support our distribution system to ensure safety, reliability and performance for customers.

This field-focused role emphasizes teamwork, documentation, and proactive problem solving, with opportunities to coordinate with operations, maintenance, and emergency response teams across the utility

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or PE license is required; a PE may substitute for a degree.
• Substantial experience in planning, design, spec prep, field work, cost estimating and scheduling.
• Demonstrated organization, documentation, prioritization, and project management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and modify guidelines for application to problems or processes.
• Prepare complex designs, standards, studies and analyses.
• Provide detailed design review of internal or external documents.
• Prepare cost estimates and evaluations for project alternatives.
• Plan and develop project budgets with proper documentation.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards and maintenance requirements.
• Identify weaknesses and initiate corrective action.
• Share work to strengthen skills within the department.
