Job summary

Puget Sound Energy, Washington's largest energy company, seeks Distribution Electric Engineer III to support planning, design, and field operations for its distribution system. Based out of Factoria/Kent offices, you’ll provide engineering guidance, review designs, and coordinate projects that ensure safe, reliable service to 1.26M electric customers.

You’ll collaborate across teams, support emergency response, and advance asset performance while upholding safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or a PE license in electrical, mechanical, civil, or other engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience as a degreed engineer in planning, design, cost estimating and scheduling.
• Strong organization, documentation, prioritization and project management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Interprets and/or modifies guidelines for applying to problems or processes.
• Prepares complex designs, standards, studies and analyses.
• Provides detailed design reviews of technical documents.
• Prepares cost estimates and evaluations for project alternatives with minimal supervision.
• Plans and develops project budgets with appropriate documentation.
• Ensures compliance with codes, standards, and design, operation, and maintenance requirements.
• Identifies potential weaknesses and initiates corrective action.
• Documents and shares work to strengthen team skills.
• Ensures solutions are tailored to PSE's business environment.
• Supports emergency response work as requested including restoration efforts.
• May lead or coordinate junior engineers, engineering assistants, field technicians, and contractors.
