Job summary

Ampirical is seeking a Field Distribution Specialist II in Covington, GA to design electric distribution layouts and prepare construction packages. You will collaborate with field crews, monitor project progress, and ensure designs meet safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Minimum 3+ years of electric distribution design or related utility experience.
Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, and design/drafting software. Experience with Futura staking software preferred.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering technology, drafting/design, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience accepted.

Responsibilities

Develop electric distribution layouts and detailed construction packages in accordance with company standards.
Collaborate with internal teams and field crews to clarify design intent and resolve issues.
Monitor project progress by updating schedules, validating documentation, and preparing reports for internal review.
Ensure designs comply with NESC standards, RUS guidelines where applicable, and safety regulations.
Support permit submissions and assist senior engineers on complex projects such as reconductor and tie-line work.
Utilize design and drafting software and GIS to create, interpret, and update technical drawings and spatial data.
