Ampirical is seeking a dependable Field Distribution Specialist III to join our Cappstone Energy Group. The role focuses on designing and supporting electric distribution projects, including single-phase, three-phase, and reconductor work, with travel mainly within the state.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in electric distribution design, strong knowledge of NESC/RUS standards, and proficiency in CAD/Drafting software and GIS. A valid driver's license is required for site work.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in electric distribution design or related utility work.
• Strong knowledge of electric distribution systems and design practices.
• Proficiency with design/drafting software and GIS.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Advanced understanding of NESC and RUS design standards.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform field assessments and collect data for line extensions and upgrades.
• Design and draft distribution layouts per standards and safety regs.
• Prepare construction packages with staking sheets and drawings.
• Support senior designers and engineers on complex designs.
• Coordinate with internal teams and field crews to clarify design intent.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, NESC, and RUS where applicable.
• Design and submit permits for DOT, railroad, and encroachments.
• Maintain records and update design systems with project data.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement.
