Job Description

We are seeking a Field Diesel Technician to provide exceptional service to our customers' Vector System-equipped vehicles. This customer-facing role involves travel to customer locations for installation, maintenance, and support of the Vector System and SMARTFuel. Comprehensive training will be provided during onboarding.

This hourly position ($36.00-$40.62/hour) is based in Pittsburgh, PA, with approximately 70% of work performed at customer sites.

Responsibilities

  1. Become an expert on the Vector System's electronics, software, hardware, and mechanical components.
  2. Complete system installations, including OEM component dislocation and relocation within various vehicle areas.
  3. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, electrical diagrams, and manuals for installation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  4. Perform system testing upon project completion.
  5. Interact confidently with customers and address their questions.
  6. Maintain communication with customers to update on work progress.
  7. Provide troubleshooting and technical support via phone, email, or in person.
  8. Ensure customer satisfaction through effective service.
  9. Research and resolve technical issues using internal and external resources.
  10. Assist with assembly of Vector System components.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum 3 years of heavy-duty vehicle or equipment installation, diagnostics, or repair experience.
  2. Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems diagnostics.
  3. Ability to interpret detailed schematics and documentation.
  4. Experience with hand and power tools; willingness to learn new tools.
  5. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  6. Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Additional Qualifications

  1. ASE Diesel certification, military experience, or equivalent, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  2. Extensive electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  3. Moderate computer skills and familiarity with MS Office or GSuite.
  4. Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines.
  5. Pride in quality work and customer satisfaction.
  6. Proficiency with diagnostic and hand tools.

  2. Commitment to continuous learning.
  3. Ability to work in diverse environments, including outdoor, warehouse, and shop settings.
  4. Ability to work around particulates, lubricants, and chemicals.
  5. Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
  6. Flexible working hours.
