Job Description

Optimus Technologies is seeking a Field Diesel Technician to provide first-class service to our customer's Vector System equipped vehicles. This role involves travel to customer locations for installation, service, and support of the Vector System and SMARTFuel. Comprehensive training will be provided during onboarding.

This hourly position ($36.00-$40.62/hour) is based in Pittsburgh, PA, with 70% of work at customer sites. The role involves working autonomously, liaising with customers, and offers growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Become an expert on Vector System electronics, software, hardware, and mechanical components.
• Complete system installations, including OEM component dislocation and relocation.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, electrical diagrams, and manuals.
• Perform system testing after installation.
• Interact confidently with customers, answer questions, and maintain communication.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support via various channels.
• Research and resolve technical issues.
• Assist with Vector System component assembly.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of heavy-duty vehicle or equipment installation, diagnostic, or repair experience.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems diagnostics.
• Ability to read technical schematics and follow instructions.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google tools.
• Strong communication skills and team collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• ASE Diesel certification or military experience in relevant areas.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Extensive electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and GSuite.
• Ability to work independently under pressure.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
• Mastery of installation and servicing tools.

• Ability to work around particulates, lubricants, and chemicals.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL a plus.
