Job summary

Tractor & Equipment Co. in Williston, ND seeks a Heavy Equipment Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain CAT machinery. The role requires hands-on work with engines, powertrains, hydraulics, and electrical systems, using CAT diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• 2-4 year vocational/technical school or equivalent experience required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to operate forklift and other equipment (hydraulic/mechanical presses, hoists, cranes).
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook).
• Able to stand up to 8 hours; able to twist, bend, kneel, and crouch as needed.
• Experience with CAT dealership or CAT products is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot engines, powertrains, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Work with CAT diagnostic equipment and CAT repair tooling.
• Control job costs through planning and organization.
• Investigate and identify problems to recommend solutions.
• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment (removal, repair, assembly, installation).
