Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic in the CES division to repair and maintain complex equipment on customer-owned assets at client sites. The role requires lifting, driving, strong mechanical aptitude, and a focus on safety and quality service.

You will document work orders, interact with customers, and may travel to various job sites. A high school diploma, valid license, and 3–5 years’ equipment experience are required, with opportunity for growth within the Service Department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.
• Must own tools applicable to the position.
• Strong customer service, teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment on customer-owned equipment with limited supervision.
• Maintain paperwork/records of work performed daily.
• Upsell and demonstrate equipment to customers.
• Travel to customer sites for repairs; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties as needed.
