Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech IV - Field Service - CES). You will perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment at customer sites with minimal supervision, ensuring safety and quality.

The role involves travel to customer locations, training junior techs, and accurate documentation of work orders. Requirements include 5+ years of repair experience, strong mechanical aptitude, valid driver's license, and the ability to lift

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Must own tools applicable to position.
Familiarity with construction equipment and engines is needed.
Strong mechanical aptitude and tool knowledge are essential.
Ability to read schematics/diagrams is required.
Excellent customer service and teamwork skills are necessary.
Valid driver’s license with clean record is required.
Able to lift up to 45 lbs on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

Repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment.
Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance and maintain a professional vehicle.
Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work orders daily.
Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of equipment to customers.
Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
