Job summary

Attis is seeking a Forward Deployed Software Engineer in San Francisco to lead production deployments onto edge compute and autonomous flight hardware, working with operators across the US and Europe. You will write high-performance C++ and Python, integrating with sensors, telemetry, and flight systems while iterating rapidly in real-world conditions.

The role offers substantial ownership, exposure to defense technology, travel up to 50%, and equity along with base salary of $100k–$160k.

Qualifications

• Strong academic background in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Open to range of experience levels from recent graduates to mid-level engineers.
• Solid foundations in software engineering with C++ (essential) and Python.
• Proficiency with Linux environments and edge compute platforms.
• Rapid diagnostic and debugging across large codebases and live systems.
• High-ownership, bias-for-action mindset and comfort working with end-users.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end deployment of production software onto edge compute and autonomous flight hardware in active operational environments.
• Write performant C++ and Python for core software integrations, deployment tooling, and real-time debugging workflows.
• Integrate software platforms with onboard compute, sensors, telemetry, and flight systems.
• Build and optimize operator-facing software, tooling, and scalable deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with field operators to test, debug, and iterate on live software in real-world conditions.
• Translate field feedback into code fixes, performance improvements, and feature enhancements.
