Atmos Energy Corporation is seeking a field-based Damage Prevention Technician. The role focuses on locating and marking facilities, reading maps, and coordinating with crews and contractors to prevent damage.

Responsibilities include investigating damages, maintaining maps, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The position may require stand-by duty, travel, and heavy outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Qualifikationen

• Requires ability to communicate, persuade and/or influence internal and/or external customers.
• Must obtain and maintain Operator Qualifications (OQs) and classroom training within six months.
• Requires valid driver’s license in accordance with Company standards.
• Ability to utilize the Company’s internet/intranet site and data-entry systems.

Aufgaben

• Accurately locate and mark company facilities (transmission & distribution systems, service lines, and other facilities).
• Reads and interprets system maps.
• Works with Company crews and outside contractors for re-marking to prevent damage.
• Investigates natural gas facility damages to determine root causes.
• Maintains relationships with excavators, municipalities, and personnel responsible for excavation activities; reports damages.
• Keeps maps and records accurate for damage prevention.
• Completes and maintains records/reports to comply with Company and regulatory requirements.
• May perform C&M and service work when not performing damage prevention duties.
• May hold stand-by duty, work shifts, holidays, weekends, and emergency call outs.
• Identifies and reports safety and encroachment issues to resolution.
• Responsible for safe operation and inspection of assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Demonstrates safety values and Company ethos in all roles and responsibilities.
• Must complete required safety training and stay familiar with the Safety Manual.
