Job summary

Atmos Energy Corporation is seeking a Damage Prevention professional to lead pipeline safety efforts, coordinate excavations, and investigate damages. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and five years in natural gas construction or damage prevention, with valid driver’s license and required OQs.

The candidate will work outdoors in varying weather, maintain records, and ensure regulatory compliance while upholding Atmos Energy’s safety standards and code of conduct.

Qualifications

• General educational knowledge from a high school diploma or GED and five years experience in natural gas construction, damage prevention or related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversees pipeline crossings by third-parties.
• Coordinates excavations with Company crews and outside contractors for damage prevention.
• Conducts investigations of natural gas facility damages and completes investigations to resolution.
• Reviews and reconciles invoices.
• Contacts area excavators, municipalities, and Company personnel involved in excavation activities.
• Ensures accuracy of Company maps and records related to damage prevention.
• Maintains accurate records and reports to comply with Company and regulatory requirements.
• May hold stand-by duty, work shifts, holidays, weekends, emergencies, and extended hours.
• May report outside regular work area.
• Identifies and reports safety and encroachment issues for resolution.
• Ensures safe operation and inspection of assigned Company vehicles and equipment.
• Supports and adheres to Company values and Code of Conduct (AtmoSpirit, Customer Service, Safety).
• Familiarizes with Safety Manual and completes required safety training.
