Job summary

Google Public Sector seeks a Field Chief Technology Officer Office leader to represent Google at high-level customer meetings and deliver deep technical value across GCP, AI, and public sector solutions.

You will engage technical stakeholders and executives, shape strategic conversations, mentor GPS Customer Engineering, and travel to customer sites and events (approx. 50%). US locations include Austin, Reston, Cambridge, Chicago, Sunnyvale, New York.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience as an enterprise architect or in a customer-facing role.
• Experience in cloud market insights and cloud computing across applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, or data.
• Experience with modern AI paradigms, generative AI, and data technologies, including reviewing technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-stakes executive meetings requiring deep technical understanding.
• Collaborate with product areas and customers to co-design solutions for large initiatives like Gemini for Science and Threat Management for Governments.
• Mentor GPS Customer Engineering teams through internal training and position papers.
• Travel to customer sites and events as required (about 50% on average).

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience as an enterprise architect or equivalent experience in a customer-facing role.
• Experience in cloud market insights and cloud computing across applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, or data.
• Experience with modern artificial intelligence (AI) paradigms, generative AI, and data technologies, including experience reviewing technical solutions.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with software lifecycles, building tools, and architecting and developing software for scalable, distributed systems, including data platform, AI/ML and infrastructure.
• Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders, including tailoring and delivering compelling messages by audience, asking strategic questions, and leading conversations that drive business opportunity.
• Experience in architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $192000 - $267000 (USD) + 42.86% bonus target + equity + benefits

• Step into high-stakes executive meetings that require a deft touch and deep technical understanding. Take on speaking engagements that have the potential to be market movers.
• Build trust and collaborate with other Product Areas like DeepMind (GDM), Geo, Research, and Jigsaw to co-design solutions alongside our customers. Help build out massive initiatives like Gemini for Science, Gemini for Policy Making, and Threat Management for Governments.
• Act as mentor across GPS Customer Engineering. Elevate the entire team through podcasts, internal training, and real-time position papers that decode market changes.
• Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required (can vary, on average ~50%).
