Job summary

Google Public Sector seeks a Field Chief Technology Officer Office member with deep GCP, AI and public sector know-how to lead high-stakes customer engagements.

You will collaborate across Product Areas to shape scalable solutions and mentor engineering teams while traveling to customer sites and events as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• At least 10 years as an enterprise architect or equivalent in customer-facing roles.
• Experience with cloud market insights and cloud computing across apps, infra, storage, platforms or data.
• Familiarity with modern AI paradigms, generative AI and data technologies.

Responsibilities

• Represent GPS in high-stakes executive meetings and public sessions.
• Collaborate with Product Areas to co-design solutions with customers.
• Mentor GPS Customer Engineering through internal talks and materials.
• Travel to customer sites and events as required (approx. 50%).

Job description

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience as an enterprise architect or equivalent experience in a customer-facing role.
• Experience in cloud market insights and cloud computing across applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, or data.
• Experience with modern artificial intelligence (AI) paradigms, generative AI, and data technologies, including experience reviewing technical solutions.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with software lifecycles, building tools, and architecting and developing software for scalable, distributed systems, including data platform, AI/ML and infrastructure.
• Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders, including tailoring and delivering compelling messages by audience, asking strategic questions, and leading conversations that drive business opportunity.
• Experience in architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $192000 - $267000 (USD) + 42.86% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities:

• Step into high-stakes executive meetings that require a deft touch and deep technical understanding. Take on speaking engagements that have the potential to be market movers.
• Build trust and collaborate with other Product Areas like DeepMind (GDM), Geo, Research, and Jigsaw to co-design solutions alongside our customers. Help build out massive initiatives likeGemini for Science, Gemini for Policy Making, and Threat Management for Governments.
• Act as mentor across GPS Customer Engineering. Elevate the entire team through podcasts, internal training, and real-time position papers that decode market changes.
• Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required (can vary, on average ~50%).
