Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Field CTO for the Public Sector to serve as a trusted technical advisor. You will connect DevSecOps strategy, security, and compliance goals to business outcomes and work with executives during pre-sales.

Build relationships with CIOs, CSOs, and CTOs while collaborating with sales, marketing, and product teams. You will combine technical depth with executive communication, shaping field strategy and content.

Qualifications

• Expertise in DevSecOps strategy, application security, and compliance for regulated environments.
• Experience selling to, supporting, or working within the public sector.
• Experience creating and delivering technical thought leadership content independently.
• Working knowledge of the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including CI/CD and modern engineering and operations practices.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills for audiences from executives to engineers.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers in a technical consulting and advisory role during the pre-sales process, providing technical assistance and strategic guidance.
• Deliver executive-level thought leadership on DevSecOps, security, and compliance for strategic public sector opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with customer leaders such as CIOs, CSOs, CTOs, and chief security architects.
• Partner with the marketing team to develop content and support media engagement opportunities.
• Educate customers on the value of the GitLab platform across multiple levels of the organization.
• Assist with RFI/RFP responses related to government publications and public-private partnerships.
• Participate in working groups connected to government publications and standards.
• Curate public sector field feedback and contribute to sales strategy and enablement.
