Job summary

Keystone Cooperative is seeking a Crop Technician Intern to support crop diagnostics through field scouting, tissue sampling, soil moisture probing, UAV data collection, and soil sampling. You will travel in the assigned territory and contribute to informed irrigation and crop management decisions.

Applicants should be enrolled in an accredited college/university with an interest in agronomy, possess a valid driver's license, and be able to operate an iPad, GPS software, and field equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods.
• Enrolled in accredited college or university.
• Interest in agricultural/agronomy field.
• Valid driver''s license and reliable vehicle.
• Ability to use iPad, GPS software, and field equipment.

Responsibilities

• Scouting: Create scouting reports identifying weeds, insects, diseases, growth stages, stand counts, and field anomalies.
• UAV Flights: Utilize drones to make aerial observations, produce imagery, and collect data.
• Tissue Sampling: Collect corn or soybean tissue and prepare for testing.
• Soil Moisture Probing: Perform soil moisture tests and report data to the Ag Tech team; install moisture monitors.
• Soil Sampling: Collect soil nitrate samples to monitor in-season nutrient availability.
• Field Signs: Organize, place, and remove field signs.
• Travel: 100% travel in territory; 75% in fields, 25% in training/tours/events.
