Job summary

KEMRON Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking a Field Cost Accountant to support current and upcoming environmental remediation and construction projects. The role involves field-based cost accounting, procurement, and administrative support across multiple project sites.

You will track costs, manage invoices, assist with budgeting and cost reporting, and coordinate with clients, vendors, and Project Managers. Frequent travel and site presence are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years administrative, accounting, project support, or related experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Experience supporting ERRS projects.
• Experience supporting environmental remediation, construction, government, or other field-based projects.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to maintain accurate project and financial records.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines and complete assigned responsibilities independently in a fast-paced project environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work professionally with clients, managers, field personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and corporate support staff.

Responsibilities

• Track and reconcile project costs, including labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other project-related expenses.
• Prepare and reconcile contractor daily cost reports, including EPA Form 1900-55 and RCMS reporting for EPA projects and daily cost reports for private projects, as applicable.
• Maintain project timekeeping, invoices, receipts, mileage, per diem, and other supporting cost documentation.
• Prepare and update project burn schedules and support budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting activities.
• Procure project materials, equipment, and subcontracted services; obtain quotes and support cost comparisons and vendor selection.
• Initiate and maintain purchase orders, subcontract or service agreements, and change orders as assigned.
• Process vendor invoices and coordinate project supplies and other site support needs as assigned.
• Maintain organized project files and upload required records to SharePoint and other designated company or client systems.
• Provide administrative and operational support to Project Managers and field personnel and communicate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and corporate support staff regarding project cost, procurement, and documentation matters.
• Ensure required project documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner.
• Follow applicable safety and incident reporting procedures and promptly report concerns to appropriate project or corporate management.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
