Job summary

KEMRON Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking a Field Cost Accountant to manage field-based project costs, procurement, and documentation on environmental remediation and construction projects. Frequent travel to project sites will be required across various states.

You will support budgeting, reporting, and cost controls to ensure accurate project financials. Key responsibilities include cost tracking, expense reporting, PO management, and coordination with Project Managers and field staff.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years of administrative, accounting, project support, or related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Experience supporting ERRS projects.
  • Experience supporting environmental remediation, construction, government, or field-based projects.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication with clients, managers, field personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and corporate staff.

Responsibilities

  • Track and reconcile project costs, including labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other expenses.
  • Prepare and reconcile contractor daily cost reports and RCMS reporting for EPA projects and daily private project reports.
  • Maintain project timekeeping, invoices, receipts, mileage, per diem, and other cost documentation.
  • Prepare and update project burn schedules; support budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting.
  • Procure project materials, equipment, and subcontracted services; obtain quotes and perform cost comparisons.
  • Initiate and maintain purchase orders, subcontract or service agreements, and change orders.
  • Process vendor invoices and coordinate project supplies and site needs.
  • Maintain organized project files and upload records to SharePoint and client systems.
  • Provide admin and operational support to Project Managers and field staff; communicate with clients and vendors.
  • Ensure project documentation is complete and submitted timely; follow safety procedures.
