Job summary

KEMRON Environmental Services, Inc. seeks a Field Cost Accountant to support environmental remediation and construction projects on-site and in the field.

You will track project costs, manage timekeeping and invoices, prepare cost reports, and coordinate procurement and change orders across multiple sites, while ensuring accurate documentation and timely reporting. This role requires frequent travel, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with clients, vendors, and project

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of administrative, accounting, project support, or related experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Experience supporting ERRS projects required.
  • Experience supporting environmental remediation, construction, government, or other field-based projects required.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to maintain accurate project and financial records.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines and complete assigned responsibilities independently in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work professionally with clients, managers, field personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and corporate support staff.

Responsibilities

  • Track and reconcile project costs, including labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other project-related expenses.
  • Prepare and reconcile contractor daily cost reports, including EPA Form 1900-55 and RCMS reporting for EPA projects and daily cost reports for private projects, as applicable.
  • Maintain project timekeeping, invoices, receipts, mileage, per diem, and other supporting cost documentation.
  • Prepare and update project burn schedules and support budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting activities.
  • Procure project materials, equipment, and subcontracted services; obtain quotes and support cost comparisons and vendor selection.
  • Initiate and maintain purchase orders, subcontract or service agreements, and change orders as assigned.
  • Process vendor invoices and coordinate project supplies and other site support needs as assigned.
  • Maintain organized project files and upload required records to SharePoint and other designated company or client systems.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to Project Managers and field personnel and communicate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and corporate support staff regarding project cost, procurement, and documentation matters.
  • Ensure required project documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner.
