Job summary

Clark Construction Company in Michigan is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support field leadership on commercial projects. You will assist the Superintendent with daily site operations, scheduling, safety, and quality control while maintaining clear communication with trade partners.

This role provides hands-on experience in short-term planning, jobsite coordination, and project closeout, with growth potential into a full Superintendent role within a collaborative, safety-focused team

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a Superintendent or related field role
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field
• Strong understanding of commercial construction processes
• Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizational skills
• Effective communication with clients, project teams, and trade partners
• Ability to manage risk and support cost control efforts
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating short-term (2-4 week) jobsite activities and communicate plans with trade contractors
• Support development and maintenance of the project schedule, including three-week lookahead planning
• Monitor and support contractor performance to ensure alignment with project timelines and requirements
• Help facilitate timely approvals and documentation with architects, engineers, and governing authorities
• Uphold jobsite safety, quality, environmental standards, and cleanliness at all times
• Assist with project close-out and ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards
• Maintain detailed daily reports documenting site activity, progress, and key events
• Track labor hours and submit trade hours and labor reports as required
• Participate in and help lead onsite coordination and progress meetings
