Job summary

Clark Construction Company seeks an Assistant Superintendent to help lead Southeast Michigan commercial construction projects. This role supports the Superintendent in coordinating daily site operations, maintaining schedules, and communicating with trade partners to meet project expectations safely and efficiently.

Ideal candidates live in or near Detroit, Dearborn, or nearby areas and possess strong planning, scheduling, and safety leadership capabilities to grow into a full Superintendent

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a Superintendent or similar field role.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction processes.
• Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills with clients, project teams, and trade partners.
• Ability to manage risk and support cost control efforts.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating short-term (2-4 week) jobsite activities and communicate plans with trade contractors
• Support development and maintenance of the project schedule, including three-week lookahead planning
• Monitor and support contractor performance to ensure alignment with project timelines and requirements
• Help facilitate timely approvals and documentation with architects, engineers, and governing authorities
• Uphold jobsite safety, quality, environmental standards, and cleanliness at all times
• Assist with project closeout and ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards
• Maintain detailed daily reports documenting site activity, progress, and key events
• Track labor hours and submit trade hours and labor reports as required
• Participate in and help lead onsite coordination and progress meetings
