Job summary

Clark College is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support field operations for commercial construction projects across Southeast and Central Michigan. You will assist in planning, coordinate short- term site activities, and help maintain project schedules while ensuring safety and quality on every job.

The role offers hands-on opportunities to gain experience, support trade partners, and grow toward a Superintendent position within a collaborative, safety-focused team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a Superintendent or similar field role.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Strong planning, scheduling, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating short-term (2–4 week) jobsite activities and communicate plans with trade contractors.
• Support development and maintenance of the project schedule, including three-week lookahead planning.
• Monitor and support contractor performance to ensure alignment with project timelines and requirements.
• Help facilitate timely approvals and documentation with architects, engineers, and governing authorities.
• Uphold jobsite safety, quality, environmental standards, and cleanliness at all times.
• Assist with project close‑out and ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards.
• Maintain detailed daily reports documenting site activity, progress, and key events.
• Track labor hours and submit trade hours and labor reports as required.
• Participate in and help lead onsite coordination and progress meetings.
