Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Intern Engineer to join a fast-paced construction team in Oakland, CA. The role supports the Project Engineer I/II and Assistant Project Manager by translating construction documents into buildable plans and assisting in implementing those plans with the superintendent on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction related field in progress.
• Strong communication, sense of urgency, and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Translate and coordinate project document information for field use.
• Coordinate subcontractor work.
• Develop details for self-performed work.
• Coordinate/perform layout for self-performed work.
• Track labor and quantities for self-performed work.
• Order and track materials for self-performed work.
• Verify installed work.
• Identify and resolve document omissions via RFIs; communicate resolutions.
• Assist in 3-week look ahead schedule using Lean tools.
• Coordinate scheduling with subcontractors and self-performed work.
• Assist Superintendent with equipment scheduling and deliveries.
• Create and maintain jobsite records for self-performed work.
• Maintain labor productivity data.
• Keep daily diaries, RFIs, submittals.
• Manage change orders and material logs.
• Maintain project correspondence.
• Participate in project closeouts and punch list management.
