Job summary

Thermo Systems LLC is seeking a Controls Technician II to perform startup, commissioning, testing, integration, troubleshooting, and support of automation and control systems at customer sites in the DMV area. The role requires evaluating field equipment, PLC and SCADA interactions, and independent problem-solving with limited direction.

Travel may be up to 50% locally with some overnight stays. The position is onsite in the Greater Washington D.C.

Qualifications

• Typically 2+ years of experience in startup, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and apply drawings, specifications, procedures, and system information.
• Working knowledge of field equipment, PLC and SCADA systems, communications, and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Independently complete defined startup, commissioning, testing, integration, troubleshooting, and corrective-work assignments.
• Use drawings, procedures, and system information to verify operation and identify deviations.
• Apply understanding of PLC/SCADA systems and related tech to evaluate impact on system operation.
• Troubleshoot routine field and controls issues and engage additional expertise when needed.
• Document field conditions, test results, and corrective actions clearly.
• Coordinate field work with technicians, engineers, project teams, customers, and vendors.
