Job summary

Divcon seeks a motivated Control Technician to join our field services team. You will support DDC/BAS and PLC project work, performing installation verification, point‑to‑point checkout, and startup support under senior guidance. Expect regular travel with per diem and lodging provided per policy.

Strong documentation and communication are essential. You will verify field installations against drawings and project docs, working with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of controls installer experience or 1-2 years working in the HVAC controls industry; equivalent training may be considered.
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems and basic controls strategies; ability to reference operations during checkout and startup.
• Understanding of low-voltage control circuits, wiring, dry contacts, relay logic, multimeter use, labeling, and safety requirements.
• Familiarity with one or more DDC/BAS or PLC platforms such as Niagara, Delta enteliWEB, Distech, Siemens Desigo, JCI Metasys, Schneider EcoStruxure, Rockwell Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, or similar.
• Basic understanding of BACnet, Modbus, LON, EtherNet/IP, network types, addressing, and termination expectations.

Responsibilities

• Start up, commission, and re-commission customer systems that use DDC or PLC technology.
• Troubleshoot mid-level system problems and coordinate with subcontractors and other trades.
• Verify field installation against drawings, schedules, and project docs; flag discrepancies to supervisors.
• Provide turnkey project delivery for site systems (unitary, small AHUs/CRAHs, basic CW/HW).
• Perform verification checks per L2-L4 and support L5 IST commissioning for data center execution.
• Document daily work in QC forms and commissioning documents; log deficiencies and address conflicts.
• Maintain familiarity with construction docs, RFIs, and submittals as part of the controls process.
