Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Controls Technician to support the installation, programming, startup, and service of commercial HVAC and building automation systems across the Oklahoma City area. You will work with project managers, engineers, and field teams to deliver high-quality control solutions for diverse facilities.

The role requires hands-on experience with HVAC controls, low-voltage systems, and troubleshooting, with a focus on field work and problem solving.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with HVAC controls, building automation systems, or low-voltage controls installation.
• Experience with BAS/BMS, DDC controls, or controls integration environments.
• Understanding of electrical systems, control wiring, relays, sensors, and network communication.
• Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP networking, or related control protocols preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and control drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working independently in the field and supporting multiple job sites.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, program, and service building automation and HVAC control systems
• Work with DDC controllers, low-voltage wiring, sensors, control panels, and networked systems
• Interpret blueprints, control drawings, and engineering specifications to support installation and startup activities
• Perform point-to-point checkout, system commissioning, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance
• Support integration of HVAC equipment, lighting controls, and related building systems
• Troubleshoot communication and controls issues involving BACnet, Modbus, and IP-based networks
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and customers to ensure successful project execution
• Document service activity, project updates, and completed work accurately
• Maintain strong customer relationships while representing the company in a professional manner
• Assist with system upgrades, retrofits, and ongoing service support as needed
