Job summary
Brock Solutions in the Detroit area is seeking an On-Site Controls Commissioning Engineer to lead startup, testing, and commissioning of sophisticated automation systems at customer facilities. This hands-on role requires traveling across North America, collaborating with project teams, and solving complex PLC, HMI, and networking challenges on the plant floor.
You will work directly with customers to ensure robust launch and reliable operation, with strong emphasis on safety and quality.
Qualifications
- Background in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Design, Automation, or Industrial Engineering.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience programming PLCs (Ladder Logic) and reading electrical schematics.
Responsibilities
- Support installation, startup, testing, and commissioning of automated manufacturing systems at customer sites.
- Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, motion control, robotics, networking, and industrial communication systems.
- Validate controls sequences, safety systems, and production functionality.
- Collaborate with customers and project teams to resolve issues and optimize performance.
- Travel to customer locations across North America up to 70%.
