Job summary

Innovate is seeking a Controls Engineer to lead the installation, commissioning, and ongoing support of automated systems across multiple facilities. The role combines hands‑on field work with advanced troubleshooting and PLC programming to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

You'll work with Allen‑Bradley, Beckhoff, and Schneider Electric platforms, mentor installation contractors, and coordinate with partners to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications

3–5+ years in industrial controls, automation, or field service.
Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
Ability to read electrical schematics and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

Lead system reviews, startup procedures, and commissioning of automated equipment.
Program, modify, and troubleshoot systems using PLC platforms.
Train operations teams and mentor contractors to ensure work meets design intent and quality standards.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and control issues in real‑time.
Implement quality control measures and generate installation/commissioning reports.
Communicate with project partners; identify and mitigate risks; keep projects on schedule and on budget.
Provide technical assistance on-site and remotely to keep systems running smoothly.
