Job summary

Prime Controls is seeking a Controls & Instrumentation Technician to be embedded in complex systems integration projects. You will troubleshoot, commission, program, and solve problems on industrial automation systems, working alongside engineers on large-scale projects.

Travel to customer sites is required to deliver hands-on experience and reliable control solutions. The role emphasizes real-world problem-solving, hands-on testing, and collaboration with engineers to ensure high-quality

Qualifications

4 years experience in Controls & Instrumentation.
Technical knowledge of AC and DC drives.
Understanding of PID control loops and speed feedback devices.
Knowledge of Ethernet communications and connections.
Proficiency with PLC and HMI systems, including drivers and programming.
Ability to diagnose defective components and use diagnostic equipment.
Familiar with sourcing parts for PLC, network, computer, and software systems.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, calibrate, install, test, and commission instrumentation and automation systems on large industrial processes.
Diagnose and repair instrumentation from I/O to defective drives and components.
Set up new instrumentation using schematics and calibrate to spec.
Test and commission PLC systems with engineers and validate equipment during start-up.
Program and navigate PLCs and HMIs, including communications drivers and connections.
Identify and source parts for PLC, network, computer, and software systems on projects.
Develop and assemble project documentation and user manuals.
Travel to customer sites to provide on-site controls and instrumentation services.
