Job summary

Ebara Elliott Energy is seeking a Controls Engineer – Field Service to analyze and optimize PLC-based control systems on rotating equipment. You will advise customers, modify programming, and ensure controls operate per design.

Expect extensive North American travel and collaboration with internal teams. The role emphasizes hands-on field installation, commissioning, and on-site testing, requiring a BS in engineering and substantial field controls experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering with 10+ years field controls experience or proven experience on HMI interfaces and development.
Experience with DCS/PLC control systems and PLC programming preferred.
Knowledge of API and ANSI requirements is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Independently directs field installation and commissioning of control systems (EE/ non-OEM).
Coordinates logic and programming changes with Controls Engineering when issues are found.
Verifies instrument calibrations and performs loop and wiring checks.
Writes site reports and status updates for supervision and customers.
Maintains programming skills on various PLCs using lab hardware for testing.
Travels 70-80% across North America to support field jobs.
