SJE in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Control System Specialist II to design, test, and implement automation projects from concept to startup.
You will work on relay and PLC‑based panels, develop PLC and HMI applications, perform sizing analyses, and coordinate with project teams across the organization.
This role requires five years in control and instrumentation, strong communication, and willingness to travel to customer sites.

As a Control System Specialist II, you will be responsible for efficiently designing, testing, implementing, and completing projects in a timely manner while meeting or exceeding project specifications and budget requirements. You will work in all areas of project implementation including project management, panel design, hardware selection, vendor/end user/consultant interaction, programming, testing, and site support.
You will work with relay and PLC based control panel designs including schematics, panel layouts, and bill of material. You will perform design analysis including fuse sizing, breaker sizing, wire sizing, and short circuit analysis. You will perform in‑shop testing and field startups, and you will support Project Management, Sales, Receiving, Drafting, Documentation, Purchasing, Production and Shipping. You will provide responsibility and ownership for project performance in terms of quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
