Job summary

Ajax Building Company, part of the STO Building Group, is seeking a hands-on Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations, manage craft and subcontractor teams, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to high standards.

The Superintendent reports to the General Superintendent and collaborates with clients, inspectors, and trade partners to maintain project performance while enforcing safety policies and coordinating resources on site in Jacksonville, FL.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of supervisory experience in construction.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Thorough knowledge of construction methods and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, evaluate, and manage craft personnel.
• Coordinate craft teams and subcontractors to meet design, budget, and schedule.
• Oversee daily on‑site activities, material management, and sequencing.
• Interpret drawings; provide technical guidance on methods and equipment.
• Support project procedures, standards, and field documentation.
• Interface with clients, inspectors, and trade partners.
• Enforce safety policies and promote a strong safety culture.
• Monitor productivity and resource utilization to meet contractual requirements.
• Review field transactions and oversee layout and field engineering.
