Job summary

The Improve Group (IG) Construction Superintendent leads on-site execution of diverse projects, including modular construction products and DoD applications. You will implement project plans, coordinate internal and external teams, and provide ongoing status updates to Project Managers and leadership.

Based in San Antonio, the role requires flexible schedules, including weekends or overnight shifts, and travel to project sites as needed. Prior DoD or military experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3 years of commercial construction experience required, 5+ preferred
• Bachelor's degree in construction; 2+ years as Superintendent required
• Ability to follow project schedules and update PM/Operations Leader on roadblocks
• Ability to drive projects and teams forward in uncertain conditions
• Travel to job sites for extended periods based on project need
• Experience in secure government environments is preferred
• Military experience preferred
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Dynamics)

Responsibilities

• Participate in pre-construction meetings with Project Managers
• Site travel to project sites for ongoing support and reporting
• Coordinate vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality and timely completion
• Enforce safety protocols and manage on-site personnel
• Oversee closeout with punch list items and final documentation
• Track project status and update weekly Gantt schedules
• Prepare weekly status reports for PM and Operations Leader
• Communicate changes to scope to Project Manager
