Job summary

RQ Construction, LLC is actively hiring a Construction Assistant Superintendent for our West Coast Field Operations, based in Carlsbad, CA. You will support the Superintendent, coordinate subcontractors, and oversee daily field activities across San Diego County.

The role emphasizes safety, schedule adherence, budget control, and compliance with project drawings, proposals, and contract requirements on military and commercial sites. Access to bases is required.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to gain access to active bases.
• Minimum 3 years in lead foreman or similar supervisory role overseeing scheduling and safety.
• Experience on government, military, or major commercial construction projects preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook; training provided.
• Experience with Primavera P3/P6, Viewpoint, BIM or Revit preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, OSHA 30, EM-385, and STS certifications required or able to obtain.
• LEED Green Associate certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support field leadership and daily construction operations; coordinate subcontractors.
• Supervise field activities; ensure work is on schedule and within budget.
• Promote safety, quality control, and adherence to plans and specs.
• Assist with schedule management and project documentation; liaise with superintendent.
• Assist on projects located on military installations and maintain base access readiness.
