Job summary

SEH is seeking a Construction Services Engineer to join our employee-owned Construction Services team in Duluth, MN. You will participate in field activities, provide on-site representation for transportation projects, and travel to project sites as needed, applying engineering knowledge to support construction tasks.

This role supports field observations, records daily quantities, and communicates with engineers, contractors, landowners, utilities, and stakeholders to keep projects on track

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or equivalent.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans, specs, and technical documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
• Ability to calculate project quantities accurately.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Willingness to learn construction administration software.
• Commitment to SEH’s Quality and Safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Participate in field activities on projects with varying levels of complexity and construction conditions.
• Provide on-site representation for transportation projects, supporting tasks such as documentation, material testing, survey coordination, and more.
• Travel to project sites as needed to complete field responsibilities.
• Apply engineering and technical knowledge to support construction-related duties.
• Assist with field observations on less complex construction projects to ensure conformance with contract documents.
• Maintain daily documentation of certified work and enter quantities into contract records.
