Job summary

Infra Tech Engineering, LLC (ITE) in Jersey City, NJ is seeking Construction Safety Specialists. The role supports the Port Authority Office of Safety Management, ensuring contractors comply with safety regulations on major projects and sites in NJ/NY.

The position entails field audits, investigations and daily reporting across multiple locations. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in construction safety, SST card, OSHA 30, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.
• Valid NYC DOB Site Safety Supervisor Card (SST).
• OSHA 30-hour construction safety certificate.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
• Experience on Major Capital Construction projects.
• Knowledge of OSHA 1926 Standards, NYC DOB Code, FDNY and Local laws.
• Familiarity with NFPA, NYC and NJ Fire Codes and related procedures.
• Ability to evaluate contractor safety programs and make recommendations.
• Experience communicating with OSHA and FDNY inspectors.
• Proficient with safety software for hazards tracking.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts, drawings, and project-related documentation to ensure adherence.
• Ensure contractors are in compliance with OSHA, FDNY, NYC DOB, Local laws and regulations.
• Review Health and Safety Plan submittals.
• Audit work operations to ensure conformance to Health & Safety Programs and Job Hazard Analysis.
• Monitor conditions, practices, and processes for safety program adherence.
• Provide Port Authority with daily safety reports including photos and observations.
• Conduct accident, incident and near-miss investigations and root cause analyses.
• Provide Preliminary Information Reports on investigations.
• Interact with Port Authority representatives, safety staff, stakeholders and insurers.
