Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing seeks a Construction Safety Manager in Lebanon, IN for a 1099 contract. The role focuses on safety oversight during land prep, mass excavation, trenching, grading, and heavy civil activities.

The ideal candidate has OSHA 30 Construction certification and at least 5 years of construction safety experience, with data center or mission-critical project exposure a plus}

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction Certification is required.
• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily safety activities for site development and land preparation operations.
• Maintain a highly visible field presence in active construction areas.
• Monitor mass excavation, trenching, grading, and earthmoving activities.
• Provide safety oversight for heavy equipment and mobile equipment operations.
• Conduct routine site inspections, audits, field observations, and hazard assessments.
• Verify excavation protective systems, access/egress, spoil placement, and site conditions.
• Monitor underground utility and trenching activities.
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements.
• Coordinate safety activities with project supervision, equipment operators, and craft personnel.
• Identify unsafe conditions and implement timely corrective actions.
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports.
• Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices.
• Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project.
