Job summary

Hoyle Tanner is seeking a motivated Resident Project Representative to act as the on-site presence for construction projects in our New England Municipal Engineering Division. Based out of Manchester, NH or Portsmouth, NH, you will monitor progress, verify plans, and coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients.

The role emphasizes field observation, documentation, and contractor coordination to ensure compliance with specifications, while interacting with clients to resolve issues

Qualifications

• Associates/ BSCE or related field.
• Certification or ability to become certified in OSHA 10 Construction and Confined Space for Construction, or HAZWOPER.
• 5-15 years of construction/ inspection experience.
• Ability to read and decipher plans and specifications.
• Salary is contingent on experience.

Responsibilities

• Field observation and inspection of infrastructure projects under direct supervision.
• Record site observations in daily reports and report issues to supervision.
• Read and understand contract plans, specs, shop drawings, submittals, and provisions.
• Conduct simple field testing of construction materials and report results.
• Produce drawings, tracings, maps, and computations to describe observed operations.
• Use transit level, rotary laser, GPS to measure quantities.
• Apply supervisory guidance for limited field changes per policies.
• Engage with client and contractor to resolve discrepancies or issues.
• Document observed field conditions and project progress.
• Understand project schedule and sequence of activities.
• Process contractor progress payments for review by supervision.
