Job summary

Hoyle Tanner seeks a motivated Resident Project Representative to act as the on-site liaison for construction projects in our New England Municipal Engineering Division, based in Burlington, VT. You’ll monitor progress, document field conditions, and ensure conformance with plans and specs.

Ideal candidates bring 5–15 years of construction/inspection experience, an engineering-related degree, and applicable OSHA/HAZWOPER certs.

Qualifications

Associates / BSCE or related field.
OSHA 10 Construction and Confined Space for Construction, or HAZWOPER certification, or ability to obtain.
5–15 years of construction/inspection experience.
Ability to read and decipher plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

Field observation and inspection of infrastructure projects under supervision.
Record site observations in daily reports and report issues to supervisory personnel.
Read and understand contract plans, specifications, shop drawings, submittals and special provisions.
Conduct simple field testing of construction materials and report results.
Produce simple drawings, tracings, maps, and technical computations.
Use transit level, rotary laser, GPS or similar tools to measure quantities.
Coordinate inspections and resolve discrepancies with client and contractor.
Develop understanding of project budget, scope, and schedule with updates to supervision.
