Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Resident Project Representative to support on transit projects in the Los Angeles area. The role involves on-site supervision of construction activities, safety oversight, and coordination with owners, engineers and contractors to ensure work meets contract requirements.

Qualified candidates have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management and at least five years in transit construction or CM. LA or CONAD experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or another related field
• A minimum of five years of experience in Construction or Construction Management of transit projects
• Contractor experience (Project Manager, Superintendent, Engineer) desirable
• City of Los Angeles and/or CONAD experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Verifies project safety by observing contractor’s operations, recommending actions and ensuring compliance with safety standards
• Reviews contractor operations for CAL/OSHA compliance
• Maintains contract records, monitors progress, and tracks payments and budgets
• Monitors quality and progress of construction activities and coordinates with various teams
• Prepares and reviews contract change orders and related documentation
• Assists Resident Engineer in reviewing schedules and resolving disputes
• Reviews CPM schedules and maintains project records, progress diaries and daily logs
• Supports preparation of monthly progress pay estimates and project documentation
