Job summary

SCS Engineers is seeking a Field Construction Project Engineer to support complex energy projects on active sites, focusing on field execution, project controls, and on-site coordination. The role requires 100% travel to project sites with a monthly rotation home, with initial assignments in Concord, NC and Medford, OR.

You will liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to meet scope, cost, schedule, and quality goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of field, design-build, or construction management experience.
• Experience with Procore or similar PM platforms preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/specifications.
• OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain promptly.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts, plans, drawings, addenda, and exhibits.
• Resolve design and construction discrepancies and field conflicts.
• Provide technical support for cost-efficient methods and schedules.
• Manage RFIs, logs, and timely responses.
• Maintain project logs and document control.
• Manage submittals, shop drawings, and approvals.
• Support procurement, material management, and long-lead items.
• Monitor QA/QC observations and drive punch list closure.
• Assist in schedule updates, cost forecasting, and change management.
• Lead or assist project meetings and document action items.
• Support commissioning, turnover, and closeout documentation.
• Review payment applications and ensure compliance docs.
