We are seeking a Field Construction- Mechanical (Contract 1-1/2 years) to join the Owner's Team supporting the WAL6 project in Wallula, Washington. This position is ideal for a field-focused engineering or construction management professional who enjoys being on site, working closely with construction teams, and helping ensure complex industrial installations are completed safely, correctly, and in accordance with project requirements.
This position is best suited for candidates with 5+ years of relevant field construction engineering or construction management experience, practical construction execution knowledge, and a clear interest in active field work. Daily guidance will be provided by the onsite Mechanical Engineer.
This is a full-time, site-based position that requires regular construction site presence. The successful candidate will represent the team and collaborate closely with the onsite Mechanical Engineer, receiving daily guidance to support project execution.

What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a closely related technical discipline. Mechanical, industrial, civil, or construction management backgrounds are especially relevant.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in field construction engineering, construction management, industrial project execution, or site-based construction coordination.
- Experience serving as part of an Owner's Team, client representative team, GC organization and construction management organization.
- Strong interest in working primarily in an active field construction environment while supporting oversight of contractor installations.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply IFC drawings, specifications, approved submittals, P&IDs, isometrics, equipment layouts, and technical documentation in a field setting.
- Sound understanding of construction sequencing, installation practices, quality verification, contractor coordination, and project turnover processes.
- Familiarity with construction management and document control tools such as Procore, Aconex, Bluebeam, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or similar platforms.
- Ability to coordinate field interfaces across mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, controls, and commissioning disciplines.
- Strong communication, documentation, coordination, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced field environment.
What You Will Be Doing
- Serve as a field representative for the Owner's Team, observing construction activities and helping confirm installations are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, submittals, quality expectations, applicable codes, client requirements, and HSE procedures.
- Support field execution of mechanical and related construction work, including piping, HVAC, plumbing, utilities, equipment setting, supports, insulation, testing, and turnover activities.
- Coordinate daily with the General Contractor and their Subcontractors, construction supervisors, QA/QC, HSE, engineering, commissioning teams, and the onsite Mechanical Engineer to support safe and efficient field execution.
- Review and apply IFC drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, technical specifications, approved submittals, and installation details to verify field work and support issue resolution.
- Support the resolution of RFIs, technical questions, design conflicts, constructability concerns, field changes, and installation coordination issues.
- Monitor construction progress and communicate completed work, delays, constraints, field deviations, risks, and potential project impacts.
- Support testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, turnover, punch list closure, and close-out documentation.
- Promote a strong safety culture by reinforcing HSE requirements for field activities, including permits to work, hot work, confined space entry, lifting operations, pressure testing, and LOTO procedures.
