Job summary

Van Meter is seeking a Local Construction Coordinator to support customer job sites across the Eastern Iowa market. You will coordinate material, receive and stage deliveries, and act as the liaison between sales, operations, and field personnel. Safety, accuracy, and on-time execution are essential.

The role requires lifting up to 70 lbs, forklift operation, and strong communication with internal teams and customers. Occasional travel to customer sites is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• Previous distribution center experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 70 lbs. on a consistent basis.
• Ability to operate lift truck equipment.
• Ability to work an extended shift to complete work tasks as needed.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Demonstrated computer skills.
• Knowledge of Eclipse preferred.
• Knowledge of handheld RF scanner is a plus.
• Forklift operating experience required.
• Minimum 2 year commitment required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all company safety policies and initiatives.
• Complete returns for parts from the jobsite.
• Maintain jobsite inventory.
• Complete parts requests through ordering, receiving and shipping.
• Conduct product inspection, and storage at the jobsite.
• Flexible and adaptable to change priorities on short notice.
• Work closely with Inside Sales and Purchasing.
• Provide customer service and support as main contact between Van Meter and specific jobsite personnel.
• Build relationships with site personnel.
• Set up and relocate fabrication stations/areas.
• Clean, stock and remove excess material from work areas.
• Deliver parts to needed areas of jobsite.
• Receive and distribute deliveries as needed.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Deliver, unload, and stage materials on jobsite as needed.
• Extended out of state travel to customer job sites.
