Job summary

Van Meter Inc. is seeking a Local Construction Coordinator to support job-site needs in the Eastern Iowa market, coordinating material orders, receiving shipments, and delivering parts to designated areas.

The role acts as a liaison between Van Meter sales, operations, and contractors, promoting safety and continuous improvement on site. This position requires the ability to lift heavy loads, operate a lift truck, and travel to customer job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma Or GED required
• Previous distribution center experience preferred
• Ability to lift 70 lbs. on a consistent basis
• Ability to operate lift truck equipment
• Ability to work extended shifts to complete tasks
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods
• Demonstrated computer skills
• Knowledge of Eclipse preferred
• Handheld RF scanner knowledge a plus
• Forklift operating experience required
• Minimum 2 year commitment required

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety policies and initiatives
• Complete returns for parts from the jobsite
• Maintain jobsite inventory
• Complete parts requests through ordering, receiving and shipping
• Conduct product inspection and storage at the jobsite
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities on short notice
• Work closely with Inside Sales and Purchasing
• Provide customer service and support as main contact between Van Meter and site personnel
• Build relationships with site personnel
• Set up and relocate fabrication stations/areas
• Deliver parts to needed areas of the jobsite
• Receive and distribute deliveries as needed
• Keep work areas clean and orderly
• Deliver, unload, and stage materials on the jobsite as needed
• Extended out of state travel to customer job sites

This includes, but is not limited to ordering material, receiving material at jobsite, providing material coordination and agile construction practices to the jobsite. This individual is an important liaison between Van Meter sales, operations, and targeted contractors in the field. This person exemplifies all safe work practices. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

• Complete returns for parts from the jobsite
• Maintain jobsite inventory
• Complete parts requests through ordering, receiving and shipping
