Job summary

Van Meter is seeking a Local Construction Coordinator to support customer job sites, coordinating material delivery and storage, and acting as the liaison between sales, operations, and contractors in the Eastern Iowa market. The role emphasizes safety, adaptability, and strong communication.

Responsibilities include inventory management, parts requests, and facilitating deliveries while maintaining site cleanliness and safety standards. Occasional out-of-state travel is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous customer service experience
• Ability to lift 70 lbs. consistently
• Ability to operate forklift equipment
• Demonstrated computer skills
• Knowledge of Eclipse preferred
• Knowledge of handheld RF scanner is a plus
• Minimum 2 year commitment required

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all company safety policies and initiatives
• Complete returns for parts from the jobsite
• Maintain jobsite inventory
• Complete parts requests through ordering, receiving and shipping
• Conduct product inspection, and storage at the jobsite
• Flexible and adaptable to change priorities on short notice
• Work closely with Inside Sales and Purchasing
• Provide customer service and support as main contact between Van Meter and specific jobsite personnel
• Build relationships with site personnel
• Set up and relocate fabrication stations/areas
• Clean, stock and remove excess material from work areas
• Deliver parts to needed areas of jobsite
• Receive and distribute deliveries as needed
• Keep work areas clean and orderly
• Deliver, unload, and stage materials on jobsite as needed
• Extended out of state travel to customer job sites
