Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to drive on-site leadership and ensure safe, on-time project execution across the lifecycle. You’ll collaborate with seasoned professionals, plan preconstruction activities, and coordinate scheduling, staffing, and equipment needs while managing subcontractors and maintaining project budgets and specifications.

Ideal candidates bring a construction-related degree, strong communication skills, and hands-on leadership.

Qualifications

• Recent or upcoming completion of an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering undergraduate or graduate program.
• Strong interest in design/build, tilt-up concrete, industrial builds.
• Previous construction experience preferred but not required.
• GPA 3.0+ preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project.
• Excellent verbal communication, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Preconstruction Planning – Attend post-award meetings to review project details and assist with construction planning before work begins.
• Project Scheduling – Develop construction schedules, sequencing, staffing plans, and equipment needs with the Project Manager.
• Field Leadership – Oversee daily construction activities to ensure safety, schedule, budget, and specs compliance.
• Subcontractor Coordination – Manage subcontractor activities and coordinate across trades.
