Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our field operations team in the Pittsburgh area. You will support the full lifecycle of projects, collaborating with experienced professionals committed to safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

You’ll help supervise daily construction activities, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure work aligns with project specs while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Recent or upcoming completion of an accredited civil, mechanical, architectural, CM, Building Science or construction engineering program.
• GPA 3.0+ preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Preconstruction Planning – attend post-award meetings to review project details and assist with planning before work begins.
• Project Scheduling – work with Project Manager to develop construction schedules, sequencing, staffing plans and equipment needs.
• Field Leadership – oversee daily construction activities to ensure safety, schedule, budget and specifications.
• Subcontractor Coordination – manage subcontractor activities, communicate schedule updates and coordinate across trades.
